I love books. I love book stores. I love to study. I love reading and sharing and learning.
I've had the love of reading from a young age. My father, an English major in college, would even add to our summer reading lists. I never minded. I would even ask him to start thinking of a book I should read to prepare for college. Not much has changed. Last year before I traveled to Key West, knowing I was going to visit the home of Ernest Hemingway, I went over to his house to search for the classics.
This “book club” is more a group of Mindful individuals.
So I'm calling it Mindful Mondays. Mindfulness is all about observation without criticism is being compassionate with yourself.
The first book I choose , or actually we chose,( I asked my friend Monika for suggestions), was a book I bought a while ago. You know, light pandemic reading.
I put it down and then, like the universe would have it, I knew it was time. I was taking my life WAY to personal. I already said i love learning and i think taking the time for self study is a way to growth and expansion.
Over the next few weeks I will read from the book Don't Take Your Life Personally written by Ajahn Sumedho. I will be taking notes on my perception of what I read.
This is MY perception so I invite you to take your own notes if you'd like.
I will maybe cite a line or a page I liked, or you may notice I use some of these readings for my class dharma talks!
If you miss a chapter or a week, don’t worry, notes will be posted each Monday.
Happy Reading!
